Want to help Grits & Greens record new music?
Lately, you guys have been asking us when we’re releasing our next album… It’s no secret that recording music for an independent band is costly. And we know that these days, it’s a big ask for anyone to give their hard-earned money away. We’d like to tell you a bit about what we’ve done on our own so far and how your money could help us in a huge way.
Over the last five years, we have recorded 25 songs on our own dime. In addition to the recording costs, we’ve purchased physical copies for 8 of those songs all on our own dime. Those costs have equated to roughly $30,000 (even with our friends with studios giving us cheap rates). For an independent band with so many costs looming over us at all times, it has been difficult to come up with that money year after year. In more recent years, we’ve returned to our day jobs and taken pay cuts to invest almost every dime we receive back into this project. Even with those changes and hand-building a custom converted camper trailer to save money on hotels, there are still so many expenses that eat at a band’s bank account every month. This year we have made some huge moves to bring our fans a better show, better music, and better content. We have taken bigger risks than ever this year because we TRULY believe in this project.
In early 2026, we were gifted some studio time at the legendary Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL (thank you to our dear friends who facilitated that time for us). We had an incredible experience there and recorded what we believe is our best work yet (both musically and production-wise). Like any person would, once we had a taste of a studio as professional as Fame Studios, we didn’t feel like we could go back to the cheaper studios for future projects.
Now this is where you come in!
Your contribution would help us afford to continue going back and recording the new music we’ve been working on. In 2027, we have plans to consistently release what we believe is our best music yet. Our costs are broken down below:
Tracking 2 songs per day:

Food during our studio days:

Total for one trip to the studio:

In addition to the 4 times we’re planning to go to the studio in 2027, we are scheduled to go on October 19th of 2026. That’s five trips to the studio at $2,980 per trip (for a grand total of $14,900) that we need your help with. We would be beyond honored to have your help on this and promise to give it everything we have in the studio!
